A Friend In Vilnius – When We Meet
A Friend In Vilnius creates music that paints pictures. Their sound opens a quiet space and invites the listener into the band’s home-built studio – the place where ideas take shape and moments are allowed to unfold naturally.
When We Meet was recorded in the band’s own studio, where many of the compositions begin as simple sketches. From there the music grows organically in the room between them. Microphones are turned on, and whatever happens in the moment is allowed to live on in the recording.
The result is a collection of pieces balancing the fragile and the cinematic – moving gently between stillness and motion. Tracks like Nakamura and Tango Amnesiac drift through atmospheric landscapes, while Heartbeats and Pictures of You lean into a more intimate and reflective space.
The album closes with End Of An Era and Song For Thyra. Together they carry a quiet sense of transition – acknowledging endings while holding on to what remains: friendships, memories, and the music itself.
At its core, A Friend In Vilnius is about embracing the unplanned and giving simplicity room to breathe. Out of that approach emerges a music full of presence, warmth, and a deep love for the act of creating together. When We Meet is an open invitation to listen.
